I adore My Green Blender Juice. It is a drink bursting with nutrition and taste.

There’s enough kale in there to incite a small riot, but you’d never know it. If I could recommend one ingredient as a must-have, it would be fresh ginger.

Not only does it add its own unique flavor to the drink, but the health benefits of ginger merely amplify the already impressive nutrition profile of this drink.

Substitutions and Variations

1 cup of spinach leaves, in place of the kale leaves
½ zucchini, sliced instead of cucumber
1 pear, cored and chopped instead of green apple
One stalk of bok choy, chopped; celery is replaced with bok choy.
Substitute 1/2 inch slice of turmeric root, peeled and cut, for ginger root.

Pro Tips

1. To enhance the flavor and nutritional benefits, consider adding a handful of fresh mint leaves to the blend. This will add a refreshing twist to the drink.

2. For a creamier texture, add half an avocado to the mix. It will also increase the healthy fats and make the drink more filling.

3. If you prefer a sweeter taste, you can add a teaspoon of honey or a few chunks of pineapple to balance the tartness of the green apple and lemon.

4. For an extra boost of vitamins and minerals, toss in a tablespoon of flaxseeds or chia seeds before blending. This will also add a slight nutty flavor and improve the smoothie’s nutritional profile.

5. To amplify the detoxifying properties, consider adding a pinch of turmeric powder. It will add a warm flavor and is known for its anti-inflammatory benefits.
